3x08 Capitulo biliingüe about tsunamis

In december 2004, Pat Ralson was staying at a luxury hotel in Thailand. While Pat was sitting on a balcony reading, people were playing volleyball on the beach below. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day.
Then, suddenly, people were running in every direction, as water fron a tsunami flooded the beach and the hotel. Pat was lucky - he survived, but the inmense wave destroyed buildings, villages and thousands of lives in South-East Asia.
The word tsunami comes from Japanese words 'harbour' (tsu) and 'wave' (nami), They are 'harbour waves' because they become bigger and break when they are near land. If you are on a ship in the sea, the tsunami will pass under you. But not all the ships are safe. For example the 'Norwegian Dawn' who was 'ate' by the tsunami on 16th of april of 2005.

Last year I was working with my father on his fishing boat. One day we were about 20 km. from the coast when suddenly a storm starts. We were all in the cabin watching the storm.
Suddenly, I saw a massive wave. I was very frightened. When the wave hit us we were in panic. People were shouting and things were falling and breaking everywhere.
Afterwards I was OK, but my father and his friend were injured, so we tried to to help them. It was a terrible experience , and when we arrived at the harbour I was lucky to be alive
